Mrs. Luella Knapp

Born and raised in Wrangell, I am of Tlingit & Haida descent.  As the Indian Education director since 1996, I tutor at WHS and complete the annual online grant proposal.  In 1989-1990 school year, while I was the IEA tutor when I decided to become a teacher.

My children and I moved to Juneau, so I could earn my Associate of Arts degree at UAS Juneau. We came home for a year and moved to Sitka to attend Sheldon Jackson College, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education English.   My husband and I have four grandsons, and three great-grandchildren, two boys and a girl.  We plan to retire here in Wrangell.
