Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Michelle Jenkins

My name is Michelle Jenkins and I am one of two 2nd grade teachers here at Evergreen Elementary school.

I am very thankful for the opportunity to impact the lives of the students of my home town in a possitive way. I grew up in Wrangell and graduated from Wrangell High school. I received my associates degree at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA and my bachelors degree from University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, AK. I taught Kindergarten the first two years of my career and have been happily in 2nd grade ever since. I am starting my 7th year teaching and am so excited to get students in the classroom for the year!

I absolutely love teaching, this was my dream job! I love seeing students gain confidence in their skills and be able to engage and LOVE learning. Everyday is exciting as a teacher and there is always something fun happening in the classroom.

I have been busy getting our classroom ready. I can’t wait to meet you and begin a fun-filled year together. We are going to work through challenges and learn and grow as a classroom family. This year has brought many new challenges for all of us as parents, teachers, administrators, students, and community members and it is my goal that we work as a team to make this the best year possible for your child. Please do not hesitate to reach out and have a conversation with me if you have a question or concern, my door is always open and my phone is always on!
