Mr. Ryan Howe
Hello!
My name is Ryan Howe. My wife and I have lived in Wrangell for 11 years. We are originally from the Midwest (Wisconsin and Michigan). We have three children, Clay, Millie, and Bennett (6 years, 4 years, and 2 years, respectively). We also have a pesky dog named Milo, a puppy named Jasper (after our all time favorite national park), a Guinea Pig named Poppy, and five ducks.
I have spent 14 years in education. I taught English as a Foreign Language for 2 years in Ukraine, was a long-term sub in my home town of Ishpeming, Michigan in a Social Studies class, and taught Special Education in Fort Yukon, AK for one year before moving to Wrangell. I am proud to be a teacher, and even prouder to be a Special Education Teacher.
I am beginning my 12th year at Evergreen Elementary School. I currently serve as the district's Special Education Coordinator for grades PreK to 12. I am the Special Education Case Manager for students from Preschool through Fifth Grade. I also teach the Title I Reading class for the 4th and 5th grades. I am the President of our NEA Local, the Wrangell Teachers' Association.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me at the school (874-2321), or stop me in the hall.
Thank you,
Ryan
