Degrees and Certifications:
Hi, My name is Bob Davis. For middle school, I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade English, and for high school, Alaska Studies and History of Freedom. This is my 28th year of teaching, 6 years in Nulato, a small village on the Yukon River, and the last 22 years here in Wrangell. Teaching is a profession I feel blessed and privileged to be a part of.
As a product of Alaska's education system, I attended grade school in Anchorage, junior high in Juneau, and graduated high school back in Anchorage. After spinning my wheels for a couple of years, I earned a degree in English and another in History from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Since then, my students have become my primary teachers, teaching me more about life, education and simply being human than any professor or class ever could.
When I'm not teaching, I can usually be found with a book in my hand, hanging out with my grandkids, or planning next year's courses.
After nearly 30 years of teaching, I fully believe that educating a child is a team sport--so please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any worries, questions or suggestions concerning your child, the curriculum or my classroom requirements. We're in this together!
