  • Wrangell Public Schools is accepting applications for the following positions during the 2020-2021 school year:

    Accounting Clerk: This is a part-time, 12-month position working 10 hours per week to support the Business Office in all accounting functions.

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Filing.  Prior office experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

    Salary placement is Column E on the Classified Salary Schedule.

    Anticipated starting date: August 10, 2020

  • Custodian: This is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position working 7.5 hours per day.

    Job duties include but are not limited to keeping our school complex clean and assisting with setting up rooms for classes, large presentations and business meetings as needed; and assisting the maintenance director with minor repairs. A High School Diploma or equivalent is desired. Salary placement is Column F on the Classified Salary Schedule. Anticipated starting date: August 1, 2020.

  • Elementary Library Paraprofessional: This is a part-time, 9-month, benefited position working 6.75 hours per day in the elementary school library.  Job duties include but are not limited to supporting and managing an effective library/media center which promotes student reading and academic success in all areas of student curriculum; to support classroom teachers in the instruction of library skills for all students; to effectively oversee all phases of library circulation, management and inventory.

    A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Applicant must possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent or have the ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment. Salary placement is Column C on the Classified Salary Schedule. Anticipated starting date: August 26, 2020

  • Health Aide: This is a full-time, 9-month, benefited position working 7.5 hours per day. 

    Job duties include but are not limited to monitoring health and wellness of students and staff,

    ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to prevent the spread of illness. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; previous healthcare experience/training is preferred. Salary placement is Column D on the Classified Salary Schedule. Anticipated start date: August 10, 2020.

  • Paraprofessionals: These are part-time, 9-month position working 5.75 hours per day one-on-one or in small groups with students in the Title I, Migrant Education or Special Education programs.

     

    Job duties include but are not limited to: Work with classroom teacher(s) and program specialists to carry out lesson plans and conduct instruction based on individualized needs for student(s), Facilitate interaction with other children, and Prepare instructional materials. Must have strong communication skills.

     

    A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Applicant must possess an Associate’s degree or equivalent or have the ability to pass the ParaPro Assessment. 

    Salary placement is Column B, C or D on the Classified Salary Schedule depending on job duties. 

    Anticipated starting date: August 26, 2020

  • Sanitation Aides: These are full-time, 9-month, benefited positions working 7.5 hours per day. 

    Job duties include but are not limited to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in a school

    setting, ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to prevent the spread of illness.

    A High School Diploma or equivalent is desired. Salary placement is Column C on the Classified Salary Schedule. Anticipated starting date: August 10, 2020.
